This was my first digital illustration in Photoshop, it was a huge step for me because I never had access to the Adobe Suites before. There has been so much to learn since then, and I like to look back on this piece and remember where I was. For the few years I’d been illustrating digitally, I worked on a 3 inch by 4 inch drawing tablet. There were a plethora of possibilities from this moment.

Along with Warrior, I made these accompanying sketches named War and Peace. Inspired by the contrasting themes that encompass our existence, “War” captures the chaos, struggle, and conflict that permeate our world. It portrays these elements through dynamic strokes and intense colors, reflecting the raw emotions of strife. “War” always has a glimpse of hope right at its grasp.

Conversely, “Peace” offers a serene counterpart, illustrating tranquility, harmony, and growth amidst the turmoil. Through soft lines and soothing hues, it portrays the serene beauty of moments untouched by conflicts. “Peace” is attached to what it has, and will do anything it can to keep it.

I realize how these pieces symbolize not only my growth as an artist but also my evolution as a person. These sketches serve as a reminder of the possibilities that awaited when I first ventured into digital illustration, sparking a passion that continues to drive me forward.
