The Real Show (2024)

In 2024, I had the privilege of designing the brand identity for The Real Show, a student design competition that challenges college students to solve real-world communication design problems. This initiative emphasizes real competition, real projects, and real deadlines. It gives emerging designers the chance to create meaningful work that addresses urgent social issues.

As part of this competition, I worked with Georgetown University’s The Bridge Initiative, a multi-year research project focused on combating Islamophobia. This initiative spreads awareness by conducting original research, providing critical analysis, and fostering conversations that challenge misinformation and bias against Muslim communities.

Approaching this design, I wanted to honor Islamic culture and symbolism. My goal was to create a brand identity that genuinely reflects The Bridge Initiative’s values. Through research, thoughtful conversations with friends, and a deep appreciation for Islamic symbolism, I selected colors and imagery that align with the organization’s mission.

I hoped this logo and brand identity would inspire pride and belonging among those engaged in this vital work. This project blended design with storytelling, and this ensured that every element carried meaning. It reaffirmed my belief in design as a tool for social change, and I feel honored to show something rooted in justice, education, and inclusivity.
